This series is a collaborative artwork exploring the intersections of skin, identity, and fertilization through a layered material process. One artist, whose practice examines skin as a site of identity, created a skin-colored screen print, symbolizing the body as both a physical and cultural landscape. The second artist, whose work investigates fertilization and identity formation, introduced etched latex, evoking biological processes of conception, mutation, and transformation. The latex, stretched and marked, mimics both the fragility and resilience of skin, embodying themes of imprint, inheritance, and genetic fusion. This multilayered piece was then photographed, further abstracting the tactile qualities of the work and blurring the boundaries between surface and depth. The result is an intimate yet universal meditation on how identity is inscribed, altered, and transmitted across generations.
